High Tech Line
Allround freeride board
139 x 42,5 cm
The RIP 39 is the allround freeride board of the High Tech Line. It opens up the full bandwidth of freeride and freestyle, combined with maximum comfort and control.
– direct riding experience
– full board control
– excellent grip for turns and loaded jumps
– reduced weight
– quick planing
– easy upwind riding
– maximum comfort
The RIP 39 offers everything you expect from an excellent freerider. Within the classic outline, we integrated all Spleene innovations and it sums up in an outstanding board.
In freeride, the Advanced Jet Bottom gives the rider always perfect control over the board. Bumps in chop water are easily absorbed and upwind as well as planing performance is, Spleene typically, exeptional.
With the current shape, the RIP 39 made a huge step forward. It rides more lively and agile than our previous RIP 37 board and beats the upwind performance of the previous RIP 40.
For moves into the 3rd dimension, the RIP 39 takes fantastically easy off the surface and the low weight offers full freedom while being airborne. For loaded jumps, the reworked tips and the high grip of the Advanced Jet Bottom offer the best basis for complex freestyle tricks.
During landing, the Spleene technology features show their full strength. The bottom of the board brakes up the water and hitting the surface becomes very smooth. Right after touching the ground, grip and guidance help to quickly recover with full speed and control.
The RIP 39 is for everyone, who searches a full performance freerider. Playful board control and agility, mixed with high comfort and planing performance offer a great riding experience, in all conditions.
“Highest comfort meets easiest control and an athletic overall performance. The new version of the High Tech RIP will totally please cruisers as well as advanced freeriders with sporty ambitions.”

Overview on main characteristics
Perfect freeride board
The RIP 39 is the superior allround freeride board. It unfolds its performance in almost every condition and offers the best basis for a perfect freeride and freestyle day.
Very good upwind and planing performance
The scoop line in combination with the Advanced Jet Bottom let the RIP 39 plane early in all situations. The board can easily be directed windwards and the sharp edges as well as the good grip suport upwind riding.
As with all High Tech Line boards, comfort is one of its major characteristics. Thanks to the flex and Advanced Jet Bottom, bumps of chop water will be absorbed and it planes smoothly through very rough conditions. Additionally course and speed can be kept constantly up.
The outline of the RIP 39 make edging very simple and the board pops up high. For kite powered jumps, the RIP 39 takes easily off the surface and the Advanced Jet Bottom makes landing very soft.
High agility and control
The reduced weight at the tips, the Advanced Jet Bottom and the optimized outline give the board a very high agility, combined with full control. The board can easily be switched, rides fantastically through turns and gives a very direct riding feedback. Guidance and grip always work supportive but never restricting.
The rails of RIP 39 are shaped with a tucked under edge, a bend in the rounded rail at the centre section. That eliminates any spray. In addition, the boards rides smoother through chop.
Together with our World Cup team rider Kelvin Corniel, we could further improve the outline of the RIP 39. Changes at the tips gives the board a better grip, especially in radical turns.
Less weight at tips
The tips are now shaped thinner. The reduction of weight at this section significantly lowers the inertia and makes the board feel more alive and loose.
Improved fin position
The new RIP 39 has modified fin positions. The board is now edging harder, even in very choppy conditions and remains its full power.
As all boards from the High Tech Line, the RIP 39 comes with a new design. The colour contrast makes it easy to find your board in waves or complex lighting conditions.

What our customers say
Well, today most of it is marketing bla bla, but that this board absorbs chop and landings very well, I can confirm that. (translated from German)

I did not like the old design, even if I am Spleene fan for a long time. But I like this one here.

Super, shipping was in time just before my vacation. The Kiteboard was 8 from 10 days on the water. Feels very good. (translated from German)

Advanced Jet Bottom
This Shape-Detail describes a double concave channel on the base side of the board. It allows the board to plane more freely and earlier. The profile of the double concave is not a simple radius. The Spleene developed Advanced Jet Bottom has a parabolic shape. Compared to a normal double concave the Advanced Jet Bottom provides significantly more “edge bite” as it channels the waterflow along its edges. Especially in choppy conditions the difference is very noticeable. When landing the water surface will be broken up by the bottom of the board and allows a smooth landing.
A slightly lift edgewise at the base side which generates a lot more comfort. Riders benefit from this shape especially in choppy conditions.
Stepless 3D Deck
Stepless 3D-Shape on top side. All transitions are without any step. This results simultaneously in a clear reduction of weight.
All Spleene High Tech Line boards are produced with a form-glued, CNC-milled woodcore.
