RS 38 / RS 35
The Freestyle / Freeride Kiteboard
RS 38: 138 x 42,5 cm
RS 35: 135 x 41 cm
– wide tips for great Pop
– direct kiteboard control
– maximum aliveness
– quick acceleration
– good comfort
The RS Kiteboard is build for everything that happens above the water line. Jumps and Freestyle tricks are in focus. Therefore the RS line features a stiffer setup as the Spleene Kiteboarding HT line. Less flex delivers more Freestyle Kiteboarding power. But the RS Kiteboard is deliberately positioned between the maximum comfort of the HT line and a radically stiff Wakestyle setup. This allows to remain also the fun of Freeride Kitesurfing with a RS Kiteboard.
The wide tips and the extra stiff Carbon X-Layer build the foundation for the enormous pop of the RS Kiteboard. The kiteboard edges very well and loads up allot energy. For take off, the RS Kiteboard eject the rider precisely out of the water.
For jumps with additional kite lift, the RS Kiteboard deliver the extra boost. Everyone who is able to master the timing between kite lift and board pop, will be taken far up in the air.
For landing, the Advanced Jet Bottom as well as the remaining flex do a very good job. Touchdown is smooth and the grip builds up quickly, in every situation.
For Freeride Kitesurfing, the RS Kiteboard shows its advantage over pure Wakestyle kiteboards. Thanks to the Advanced Jet Bottom, comfort remains stable also in very choppy conditions. Spleene Kiteboarding typical: Plane and upwind performance of the RS 38 and RS 35 is outstanding.
The RS Kiteboard is build for Freestyle Kiteboarder, who are looking for a high performance kiteboard. A kiteboard which is not only able to take the rider high up in the air, but also absorbs bumps on every Freeride session. It will not let you feel every bump deeply in your bones.
“A RS Kiteboard will not only take you far up in the air with its enormous pop. It will also quickly take you back upwind, so you are ready for your next jump.”
Head of development Rainer Kauper, about the new RS Kiteboard
Overview on main characteristics
Perfect Freestyle / Freeride mixWith the RS 38 and 35, you can enjoy Freeride Kitesurfing in all its facettes. But the RS Kiteboard gives you also full Freestyle power to go for radical moves in the air and high jumps.
Very good upwind and planing performanceThe scoop line and the Advanced Jet Bottom accelerate the RS Kiteboard very quickly and towards a high top speed. Best conditions to quickly power up after landing a jump. Going upwind is also dead easy and with the RS kiteboard. You are faster back upwind to go for your next move.
Good comfortIn contrast to pure Wakestyle kiteboards, the RS 38 and RS 35 offer good comfort. Deliberatly we have chosen a setup which doesn’t long for maximum stiffness. This allows the kiteboard to absorb hard bumbs in chop water very well and the impact on bones and joints is kept low, even in long hour kitesurfing sessions.
Enormous PopThe optimized tips give much surface to edge hard. The Freestyle setup maximises load and recovery speed. All together these characteristics result in the enormous Pop of the RS Kiteboard, which clearly separates it from regular Freeride kiteboards.
High agility and loosenessThe Advanced Jet Bottom as well as the optimized outline create the high agility and looseness of the RS Kiteboard. The classic negative effects of wide Freestyle kiteboard are totally eliminated and all advantages reveal. Additionally the Advanced Jet Bottom gives always best control and guidance, without limiting the kiteboarder.
No SprayThe rails of the RS Kiteboard are shaped with a tucked under edge, a bend in the rounded rail at the center section. That eliminates any spray. In addition, the kiteboard rides smoother through chop.
New outlineTogether with our World Cup team rider Kelvin Corniel we have modified the outline of the new RS Kiteboard, especially at the tips section. This gives more grip in radical turns.
Improved fin positionThe new RS Kiteboard has modified fin positions. The kiteboard is now edging harder, even in very choppy conditions and remains its full power.
More PopThe new RS Kiteboard has a modified flex setup to provide significantly more Pop at jumps. Jumping was never easier and more powerful.
Reinforced insertsThe RS Kiteboards has new reinforced inserts. Hard wood around the stainless inserts makes the kiteboard more durable.
Action area of the RS Kiteboard
- Freeride 95%
- Freestyle 100%
- Wakestyle 95%
- Wave 85%
Carbon X-LayerAll RS Kiteboards have diagonally arranged carbon stripes, which radically eliminate torsion and generate clearly more Pop.
Advanced Jet BottomThis Shape-Detail describes a double concave channel on the base side of the board. It allows the board to plane more freely and earlier. The profile of the double concave is not a simple radius. The Spleene developed Advanced Jet Bottom has a parabolic shape. Compared to a normal double concave the Advanced Jet Bottom provides significantly more “edge bite” as it channels the waterflow along its edges. Especially in choppy conditions the difference is very noticeable. When landing the water surface will be broken up by the bottom of the board and allows a smooth landing.
Beveled RailA slightly lift edgewise at the base side which generates a lot more comfort. Kiteboarders benefit from this shape especially in choppy conditions.
Stepless 3D DeckStepless 3D-Shape on top side. All transitions are without any step. This results simultaneously in a clear reduction of weight.
Wood-CoreAll Spleene RS Line kiteboards are produced with a form-glued, CNC-milled woodcore. The woodcore is additionally reinforced arround the inserts.
