What´s new?

As part of our Eco project, we conducted intensive research into raw materials, composite materials and production processes together with Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. With the findings of the project, we were able to take the High Tech Line to a whole new level.

The classic plastic edges have been replaced with Bamboo Rails. Our highly technical bio-epoxy resin is also applied. In combination with an optimized wood core, we were able to further reduce the weight of the boards.

Our RIP remains true to its classic construction - with wood core, fiberglass laminate, bottom and deck sheet - and yet plays in a completely different league. It even undercuts the weight of many premium carbon kiteboards from other brands. The High Tech Line from SPLEENE shows what real performance at a fair price looks like.

The new RIP is still designed to be sporty. The width of 40 or 42 cm makes it very agile. A firmer construction provides plenty of pop and a direct feel. In combination with the reduced weight, a real big air weapon has been created. The Advanced Jet Bottom in the bottom section continues to provide the best grip and smooth landings with perfect guidance.

Freeride Kiteboard

The RIP is the freeride kiteboard from SPLEENE. Thanks to its low weight and the perfect balance between the rocker curve, flex, outline and bottom shape, you can glide even in light winds. With its sporty design, you have full control at all times, even in strong winds. Choppy water? No problem with the RIP!

The RIP performs excellently in all disciplines: freeride, big air or freestyle ... whatever you feel like doing. A real allround wonder - it simply doesn't get any better than this!

Superlight

3 years of intensive research have paid off in full on the new High Tech Line kiteboards. We have been able to significantly reduce the weight of the RIP. The RIP 36 weighs just 2.3 kg. A milestone for a kiteboard measuring 136 x 40 cm and manufactured using the classic hot-pressing process.

The superlight weight will put a big grin on your face. Everything is literally “lighter” all of a sudden - gliding over the water, jumping and board-offs anyway. The High Tech Line once again sets new standards. And you can feel it immediately.

Excellent jumping

What else makes kiting so special? Of course - the airtime! Thanks to the sporty design, we were able to noticeably improve the jumping characteristics of the RIP. With the tight setup, it has excessive pop.

The aggressive outline gives you plenty of edge pressure. This means the RIP can be perfectly loaded to shoot you powerfully into the airspace of your home spot. With the Advanced Jet Bottom, the RIP releases easily from the water and sets you back down gently.

Maximum control

It is the ingenious overall construction that gives you full control of the kiteboard in every situation. The heart of the RIP is the 3D milled wood core, embedded in the Spider Frame 3D deck. Only wood - no other material - gives you better feedback during your moves.

With its extremely low weight, which puts most of its carbon board competitors in the shade, the RIP feels absolutely playful and ultra direct. Cruising, switching, carving and charging to jump - the RIP does it all with ease.

High comfort

Comfort is one of the most important features of our High Tech Line. Thanks to the flex of the Spider Frame 3D deck as well as the Advanced Jet Bottom, impacts are effectively absorbed and allow you to ride smoothly even in choppy water.

The 3D milled wood core provides a very smooth ride and natural damping. Even during long sessions your knees and joints are protected. Choppy water has never been an issue with SPLEENE kiteboards. We simply know how to design the outline of a kiteboard to completely eliminate the annoying splash water.

What´s the technology behind the SPLEENE High Tech RIP?

SPLEENE Kiteboarding is a pioneer in the industry and has driven the development of kiteboards as we know them today. . 25 years of board know how have gone into this 11th generation of the High Tech Line.

Spider Frame 3D Deck

Often imitated, never equalled – the SPLEENE Spider Frame 3D Deck with its 3D milled wood core at the heart of the kiteboard!

The fine art of kiteboard development lies in providing sufficient material thickness in areas prone to breakage while deliberately making certain areas thinner and therefore more flexible. The overall goal is to achieve the lowest possible total weight for the kiteboard.

The Spider Frame 3D Deck provides the basis for this and gives the kiteboard maximum torsional stiffness – without compromise! The thinner edges create perfect flex. Areas where low forces occur are radically designed for minimum weight.

Advanced Jet Bottom

The bottom shape is characterized by a channel with double concaves. This allows the kiteboard to glide significantly earlier and more freely than conventional bottoms. Instead of a simple radius, the SPLEENE Advanced Jet Bottom uses a parabolic shape.

With our Advanced Jet Bottom you have significantly more grip, the water is pushed along the edges. In choppy conditions, the effect is particularly noticeable. Like a racing boat, the water surface is broken up by the sophisticated bottom shape. Your jumps end in buttery soft landings.

Bamboo Beveled Rails

We use bamboo instead of conventional plastic edging. Bamboo is not only extremely robust and durable, it is also extremely light and completely ecological. This means that an important feature of our Eco Line is now also available in the High Tech Line.

The bevel effect: a small detail with a big impact. The slight lift on the side of the kiteboard increases comfort enormously. Even in rough conditions, you can kite effortlessly without clogging or splashing water on your face.

3D Wood Core

All SPLEENE kiteboards are produced with a form glued, 3D CNC milled wood core. Thanks to the superior damping properties of wood, the SPLEENE kiteboards have a very high ride comfort, give maximum feedback and will give you great pleasure for years.

The 3D milled wood core is the heart of the Spider Frame 3D deck and determines the structure and character of the kiteboard.

Highly technical bio-epoxy resin

We have discovered a real game changer in our eco project with the bio-epoxy resin. It is characterized by a significant "bio" content of 28% in the resin/hardener system. The production of the High Tech Line is more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

The proportion of renewable raw materials gives the epoxy resin outstanding performance values. It can be processed precisely and forms a perfect symbiosis with the raw materials wood and glass fiber.

UV-safe Graphics

The specially developed top sheet of the kiteboard is provided with UV protection. Even many hours in the blazing sun do not harm the kiteboard. The colors shine even after years as on the first day.

Straps, Pads and Fins

The SPLEENE straps, pads and fins are perfectly matched to our kiteboards. The pads are anatomically adapted to the foot and provide extra good support by a toe edge. Get on and feel good!

For the straps we offer the Standard Straps with velcro and the Pro Straps with ratchets, even in two sizes. All straps allow different mounting positions and can be adjusted individually.

The SPLEENE Kiteboarding fins are made of extra hard G10 material, for best performance.

Our high-tech line boards are manufactured in Europe using a hot-pressing process. Maximum precision and decades of experience in handling the raw materials make the extreme performance and weight values possible.
